Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli meets the President of Iraq, Mr. Jalal Talabani; is invited for an official visit to Iraq14.09.2012
Within the frames of diplomatic engagements to increase the number of recognitions of the Republic of Kosovo, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Behxhet Pacolli met in Berlin with the President of Iraq, Mr. Jalal Talabani.
In a long and friendly meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli and President Talabani discussed about the current political process in both countries. Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli presented before President Talabani the achievements of the Republic of Kosovo since the declaration of independence on February 17, 2008, which culminated in ending the supervised independence.
Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli also expressed his confidence that Kosovo and Iraq will soon establish diplomatic relations and exchange experiences in building democracy and stability.
In this context, Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli official asked once again from President Talabani to recognize the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.
On the other hand, President Talabani expressed his satisfaction for meeting Deputy Prime Minister Behgjet Pacolli and stated that he appreciates the interest of the Republic of Kosovo to create friendship with his country.
Minister Talabani also invited Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli for an official visit to Iraq in order to discuss in more depth the further steps to create inter-state relations.
